The Academic Board is the academic governing body within the College, reporting to the GC through its Chair. It is responsible to oversee and monitor the academic activities of the College, and to advise the GC on academic matters. The AB has functions and powers relating to academic matters such as course development, accreditation, teaching and learning, benchmarking, quality assurance, academic integrity and academic risks. The AB maintains a separation from the GC, allowing it to give objective and informed advice and recommendations on academic matters. The AB may form committees and working groups as and when required. The responsibilities of AB and its powers and functions are outlined in the AB Charter below. It may constitute committees to organise its functions.
The Academic Board (AB) has four standing committees:
| AB Committees | Chair |
| Research & Scholarship Committee (RSC) | |
| Teaching & Learning Committee (TLC) | Professor Lynne Harris |
| Student Experience Committee (SEC) | Dr Sabiha Sultana |
| Course Advisory Committee (CAC) |
Sydney Met campus is located on the unceded territory of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation who are the traditional owners of the lands where the campus is situated. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We extend that respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Indigenous peoples from overseas presently studying, working, or contributing to Sydney Met.
